St. Francis 48" with wolf

This 48-inch St. Francis with Wolf statue brings to life the tale of the fierce wolf of Gubbio that the saint tamed with the sign of the cross. As the Little Flowers of St. Francis tell it, the townspeople then fed 'Brother Wolf' at their doors until it died of old age, mourned by all. The story shows a Gospel that reconciles enemies and restores harmony with creation; Francis is patron of animals and ecology, honored on October 4.

At 48 inches it suits a chapel, a side altar, or a school hallway, and it is a natural choice for a garden, a grotto, or the place where a parish holds its blessing of animals.
