St. Ignatius 24" Colonial
This 24-inch St. Ignatius Colonial statue portrays the founder of the Jesuits in the ornate style of Spanish colonial devotional art. A Basque soldier wounded at Pamplona in 1521, Ignatius of Loyola underwent a deep conversion while recovering, wrote the Spiritual Exercises and founded the Society of Jesus in 1540. His feast is July 31, and his motto, Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, for the greater glory of God, still guides Jesuit schools, retreat houses and missions throughout the world.
At 24 inches it belongs on a home altar, in a prayer corner or in the office of a Jesuit school or retreat house, and it is a thoughtful gift for a graduate, a new Jesuit or a retreatant.
Stands 24" tall. Highly ornate. Includes glass eyes, a metal custodia and an antique halo.
Finish options: Monotone, Standard Full-Color, Premium Full-Color, and Fancy Full-Color. Monotone and Standard Full-Color are offered for interior or exterior placement; Premium Full-Color and Fancy Full-Color are offered for interior placement only. Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand.
