Virgin of Tenderness 12"
This 12-inch Virgin of Tenderness statue draws on one of the oldest ways Christians have pictured the Mother of God: Mary holding her Son close in a gesture of intimate, protective love. In the Eastern tradition the type is called Eleousa, meaning "merciful" or "tender," and the famous Vladimir icon belongs to it. The image speaks to mothers, to anyone longing for consolation, and to all who want to love Christ as she did.
Twelve inches suits a nursery shelf, a home altar, or a bedside table. It is a gentle gift for a baptism, a new mother, a wedding, or a family marking the birth of a child.
The Virgin of Tenderness statue measures 12".
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand.
