"Que soy era Immaculada Councepciou" she said in Bernadette's own dialect, four years after Pius IX defined the dogma. This 51-inch statue shows Our Lady of Lourdes as the apparitions fixed her: white gown, blue sash, hands joined, rosary and golden roses. She is patroness of the sick and of those who care for them.
Fifty-one inches is a church-size figure for a sanctuary niche, a large grotto, a church entrance, a hospital garden or a cemetery. Parishes place it where the sick can be brought to pray before it on February 11.
